The molignon refuge is a car-free site.
Driving is prohibited on all roads in the Seiser Alm nature reserve all year round. House guests will receive a special authorisation from us after their reservation. This is valid as a transit certificate on arrival. During your stay you may drive with this transit permit from 10.00 am - 5.00 pm, on arrival and departure days 24 hrs.
Travelling by car
In advance: Please note that you can only arrive in the area from the roundabout between 12 noon and 3 pm. At other times there is a lot of traffic on the roads, making the journey awkward and time-consuming.
Either in Waidbruck (if you are coming from the north and exit the A22 in Klausen) Blumau near Bozen (if you are coming from the south or exit the motorway in Bozen) – left tunnel entrance to Völs/Seis and Telfen/Kastelruth. Carry on for 200 metres at the roundabout, then turn off in the direction of Seiser Alm. Info/checkpoint after 2.5 km. Here you will need to show your authorisation or obtain a driving permit if you do not yet have one. To do this, show the booking confirmation. Then place it on the dashboard so that it is clearly visible.
Then you continue to Compatsch. Please call us when you get there - we will then come and get you. In the meantime, carry on to Saltria, which you reach after about 6 kilometres. Drive past the bus shelter in the direction of Hotel Brunelle. The entrance to our car park is on the right-hand side by the two wooden huts. Drive to -2 and park in a space labelled "Mahlknechthütte". We'll pick you up here.
Travelling by train or bus: bus from Bolzano/Bozen to Siusi/Seis-Kastelrotto/Kastelruth every 30 mins. Disembark at the valley station of the Seiser Alm cable car. This will take you to the Seiser Alm. From here, either take the bus or a taxi to Gasthof Tirler.
If you have any problems, please give us a call. We will then explain possible options to you.
